Overview
The Supply Chain Engineer I-Autocad Drafter will be responsible for all drafting within the Engineering Design Services team. This individual will be the subject matter expert for all engineering design and drafting services for existing and potential new customers. Provides regular and proactive communications to NFI management. The successful candidate will possess technical skills combined with demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver innovative warehouse design solutions for new and existing clients.
- Support the Engineering design team for Drafting needs for warehouse design and optimization.
- Implement Warehouse Safety standards into the design layout
- Facility/Layout Design: Creative and out of the box thinking to develop facility layouts that balance space density with operational productivity
- Provide project management to support in deployment of new technology
- Maintain Company Repository: Responsible for maintaining and keeping current AutoCAD facility database
- Dynamic Project Prioritization: Responsible for developing custom warehouse designs for strategic opportunities, as needed
- Makes engineering design and supply chain strategy recommendations
- Effectively interacts with NFI engineering leadership and NFI operational leaders
- Confers with engineering and operations managers to implement efficient and optimized solutions
Qualifications
- Technical Certification or College Degree.
- Must be highly proficient in AutoCAD with a minimum of 2 years of experience in conventional warehouse design.
- Strong Communication skills. Ability to take direction and manage projects in a timely and efficient manner
- Effective Interpersonal and Communications skills
- Knowledge and education of warehousing operations
- Ability to travel as required
Preferred:
- Experience with facility layout, MHE, AutoCAD and Warehouse Management System (WMS) tools
- Experience in automation systems a plus. Ex- ASRS, Sortation/Conveyance, Multi Level Pick Modules, AMR’s, etc
- Willingness to relocate for career advancement
Other:
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and skill set working with industrial engineering methodologies and tools to solve supply chain problems.
