• What is MAPS? MAPS stands for Minority Association of Pre-Health Students. We are the FIU undergraduate chapter for SNMA (Student National Medical Association). For more information on MAPS and SNMA, please click the following link.
• Mission: To address the issue of health disparities by increasing the number of successful minority applicants who are interested in working with underserved populations. These include African American, Hispanic American, Native American, and other minority/disadvantaged students. Our four values are Resources, Fostering Relationships, Community Service and Social Awareness.
• How can you get involved with MAPS? Join us on Panther Connect to get emails regarding our events and meetings! As well, reach out to our President to receive the link to our WhatsApp group chat. This way, you’ll have all the tools needed to become an active member within the Club. It is also essential to note we are a free club. We do not believe in dues!
• What does becoming an Active Member mean for me? Not only will you be able to network with different professionals and peers at our meetings, but you will also gain experiences to put on your application, as well as receive priority for our exclusive shadowing/research opportunities!
• Does the club have Social Media? Of course! Make sure to follow us on instagram @fiumaps to stay updated! Also, check out our website!
