Pre-Therapy Students Association

The Pre-Therapy Students Association (PTSA) is a unique interactive medium through which FIU students will explore the various careers associated with the field of therapy all in one place! Our mission is educating, informing, and uplifting students who wish to pursue a career in health and identify with the various benefits and opportunities within the therapy field. Our purpose lies in the collaboration of the student body to reach their full potential. PTSA will aid students decide which professional field is right for them through study groups focused on pre-requisite courses, informational meetings for every field, shadowing in all areas, volunteering in the community, and workshops directed towards those fields which include but are not limited to: Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Athletic Training, Speech Therapy, Recreational Therapy, and Health Administration. PTSA’s goal is to supplement the student experience prior to their enrollment in graduate-level education while introducing students from various majors and career paths to the benefits and vast opportunities within the therapy field. Our organization’s aim is to inform, empower, and better guide students about the opportunities available within the field of Therapy. If you are someone who is interested in helping others, working in a variety of settings from home-health agencies, private offices, clinics, nursing homes, or hospitals; then this club is for you. Our members would receive invaluable knowledge and experience through our meetings with hands-on activities, and interactive exchanges with speakers that have rich inside information on the therapeutic industry as a career. Through collaborations with centers and professionals in the field, and contact with FIU graduates or those who soon will be, our club will show you the numerous benefits that can be attained through these growing careers, as well as give you high-level instructions on how to reach the goals you want to achieve within your aspiring programs.
