LinkedIn Headshots

The Career and Talent Development office offers FREE LinkedIn Headshots in person during the spring, summer and fall semesters, at MMC and BBC. These events allow students to get a free professional headshot photo to use for their LinkedIn accounts and other professional opportunities.

How do I register for a LinkedIn Headshot event?

Log-in to your Handshake account to view upcoming events, search LinkedIn Headshots under “event“.

LinkedIn Headshot FAQs

No. LinkedIn Headshots are offered to all FIU students and alumni through the Career and Talent Development (CTD) department.

Access your Handshake account, and search for LinkedIn Headshot under the events section and rsvp.

· Solid colors are best and mid-range to darker/deeper shades are encouraged.

· Avoid large amounts of white and other light colors because they may draw attention away from your face.

· Solid black should also be avoided as the detail does not capture well in photos (light and dark colors are both fine if you wear a jacket or sweater).

· Avoid wearing distracting patterns or accessories.

· Business casual or business professional is required. No t-shirts or polos will be accepted.

MMC LinkedIn Headshot Event: Head to the Student Academic Success Center (SASC) 4th Floor, exit elevators and wait in the area immediately in front of the Elevator doors. The headshots will begin promptly at the start time. Feel free to wait by the ledge or make last minute grooming adjustments in the restrooms around the left corner of the elevator.

BBC LinkedIn Headshot Event: Head to the Studio in Academic Center (AC) II, Room 160. The headshots will begin promptly at the start time.

Please make sure to write your name and FIU email legibility on the sign in sheet.

You will receive edited photos within 5 business days. Each shot is edited for light balance, and there can be additional copies with varying degrees of professional editing. Once you access the link, you can download your photos and begin to use.

You will receive a link to the CTD LinkedIn Headshots Flickr Album within five business days.

Yes, FIU alumni can participate in the CTD LinkedIn Headshot event. Access your Handshake account, and search for LinkedIn Headshot under the events section and rsvp.

Any FIU Division of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA) staff is welcome to take part in the CTD LinkedIn Headshot event. Please email sgonza@fiu.edu to register.
