The Customer Service Award is designed to recognize an individual who always demonstrates professionalism by serving the needs of the University community. This individual takes the extra step to ensure that all students and clients feel important and welcome, and that expectations are not only met, but exceeded.
In the words of one of her nominators, “While I am in the office I will often overhear Isabel talking to a student, walking them through tips for seeking employment, or providing information about academic advisors or events on campus.”
Please join us in congratulating Harold Clayton, Associate Director, who was awarded with the 2014 Student Affairs Day Supervisor of the Year on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. The Supervisor Award recognizes an individual who demonstrates excellent supervisory skills. This individual is fair and ethical, and encourages the development of the staff. This individual has the ability to listen to all points of view and is able to make fair decisions.
In the words of one of his nominators, “Harold is a great role model. He supervises the whole BBC staff with great poise and esteem. He has shown me that with hard work and dedication you can do all the things you want to achieve in life.”

We are excited to announce that our very own Amanda Finzi-Smith, Graduate Assistant, and Sonia Gonzalez Marketing & Publications Coordinator, were selected to be part of the Student Affairs Day Committee. This committee plans and oversees the annual Student Affairs Day held in the Fall at BBC. This includes soliciting nominations for the annual awards, choosing a theme, and planning the entire day’s events.

FIU Career Services’ Harold Clayton, Associate Director, was recognized this month by the FIU Student Government Association. He was given the NEW FIU Panthers statue, in appreciation of his unwavering support and leadership to the FIU student body.
FIU Career Services’ Richard Azimov, Peer Career Coach, was recognized with 3 awards Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the BBC Leadership Awards Banquet. Richard was recognized with the Mary L. Pankowski Outstanding Leader Award, with Above and Beyond Excellence Award, and last but not least the President’s Choice Excellence Award.
